One of the most challenging times in the life of armed forces personnel is getting discharged, either due to age or injury. SIRF aimed to be the holding hand, an elder patriarch the soldier can turn to. It further extends assistance to mediate, on behalf of the beneficiary, with the government officials to resolve the cases related to their compensation at the earliest and bring comfort to the family members.

The identity therefore incorporated elements of trust, assurance, a feeling of comfort and confidence. All the while it was important to keep the elements of the armed forces tightly integrated within the identity of SIRF. Red color and swords representing the army, ship -the Navy, and the wings of eagle - the Air Force, were brought in to define the exclusive focus of the SIRF on the Armed Forces.
